Living in a Pig Sty

When you bring home your registered piglet, use a pet carrier for the drive. Make sure a secure nursery is ready with a rug or carpet. A partitioned corner in the family room can function as the nursery and allow the piglet to become familiar with its new surroundings. Within the nursery, provide a litter box, water and feeding bowls, and a warm blanket. After arriving home, place the pet carrier in the nursery and allow the piglet to explore at its leisure. It will instinctively go to a litter box, but accidents may happen if the little tyke is given too much freedom to roam. Piglets can be potty-trained, too, beginning at 4 to 6 months of age.
