Chocolate, cinnamon, champagne, coffee--no, it's not a grocery list, it's a sample of delicious colors that grace the coats of the fancy mouse. First domesticated in China around the 12th century, the fancy mouse has become popular with enthusiasts of all ages. Clubs dedicated to the tiny rodent exist in Europe and the United States; in fact, the English club is more than 100 years old.

As these hobbyists will tell you, fancy mice often make great pets. They're fun, easy to keep and inexpensive. To ensure you have a positive experience keeping fancy mice, you need to select a good animal and understand what to expect from that pet.
