Special Duprasi Tips
These clean critters do not have the noticeable odor in their cages that you may have with some small rodents. This is due in part to their minimal production of urine. Duprasi enjoy an occasional sand bath. When the coat begins to look oily, it is time for a sand bath.
Twice a week, place a small container of sand in each cage for 10 minutes and watch them roll around. This keeps their coats clean and fluffy. When using cat litter for bedding, it supplies enough "dust" to eliminate the need for a sand bath. Duprasi also spend a lot of time grooming their fur and washing their faces.
