Delightful Degus
A native of the forests of Chile, the degu (pronounced day-goo) is a cavylike rodent kin to the chinchilla, guinea pig and capybara. It is roughly one-third the size of a chinchilla, measuring about 10 inches long, not including the tail. The degu has a soft tweed coat (yellow-brown and black hairs intermixed) with a cream belly, large ears and a wonderful personality.
Degus are an excellent pet choice. Because they are relative newcomers to the small animal pet market, you'll be the first on your block to own one of these endearing animals. Any one of them can be the perfect addition to your family.
