A brief overview of acceptable file output in various mainstream software applications.
QuarkXpress (MACINTOSH & WINDOWS)
When creating an ad in QuarkXpress, begin with setting the document the exact ad size you intend to submit.
If ad is a page bleed, the live image area must fall within the trim boundaries for your particular ad size (see rate card).
All images must be .tif or .eps and the resolution must be set at a minimum of 266dpi.
(Reminder: JPEG files are not acceptable.)
Fonts other than Adobe Type 1 Postscript or AGFA must be supplied (screen and printer).
We do not support True Type fonts. True Type fonts will be substituted at our discretion.
Do not style text (fonts) using the buttons on the measurements palette (see Figure 1 below). These "menu" fonts will not output accurately. Bold, italic or other specialized fonts must have the true family style typeface of that font supplied (i.e., Garamond Bold, Palatino Italic).

Colors must be Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK). Open the "Edit Colors" dialog box located in the Edit pull-down menu. Select the "Colors" option. A dialog box will appear similar to Figure 2 below.

Select each color (with the exception of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, White, and Registration) and click the Edit button. Another dialog box will appear (see Figure 3 below). Click the Model button and select CMYK from the color palette. "Spot Color" must NOT be selected. All Pantone and/or spot colors must be converted to CMYK process colors.

To save your file, choose the "Save As" option under the File pull-down menu.
