I read an article a couple of years ago on what not to use when cooking if you have a bird. I would like to know what is included in that category. Is there any non-stick cookware you can use if you have birds. Thank you very much for an answer.
This is true of all non-stick cookware and non-stick surfaces. Please note that all non-stick surfaces can cause problems. These surfaces are not limited to cookware they are found in toasters, oil/fragrance burners, heaters, ovens, furnaces etc.
Unfortunately, not long ago I received a call from a very upset pet owner who lost her pet. After several minutes of questions it was determined that the electric heater purchase a few months earlier but just used in the past days was a possible reason for the death of her pet. She was instructed to contact the manufacture and found out that the "oil well" used for fragrance was non-stick coated, even when not used this area would be heated when the heater was used. This information along with her pet was taken to the vet, the necropsy confirmed the death was caused by "non-stick poisoning."
