Water, Water, Fresh and Lots of It!

Clean water is imerative to the health of your bird.

The importance of water cannot be overemphasized. Birds are notorious for dropping things in their water bowls and creating a quagmire of decaying food. To overcome this problem, the water bowl should be as far away from the food as possible. Resorting to a water bottle is somewhat of a good idea, but water still needs to be changed on a daily basis. Breeding setups often have a flush system, making it possible to flush the water receptacle at least twice a day. If you use a water bottle, it is still ideal for the birds to have access to a bowl of water to bathe in.
